Do you like to paint, create new expressions, experiment with colors, find new material surfaces, put thick layers against thin ones, combine techniques and play with the properties of materials? With handmade, oil pastels in natural materials from Denmark, Chalk Copenhagen, you can paint on canvas, wax cloth, cardboard paper, floorboard, watercolor and pastel paper, plywood, MDF boards and...
The oil pastels can be combined with watercolour, acrylic or dry pastel. The colors can be mixed directly on the surface, pulled out with a little oil - or they can be heated with a hair dryer. The oil pastels are used by professional artists, architects, students, designers, but can of course be used by anyone with an interest in painting, art and sustainability.
The oil pastel chalks are based on pure and natural pigments, have a very high pigment content and appear with the physical expression found in natural materials. The soft oil pastels have a creamy texture, great color ability, and are suitable for creating fades and fine transitions between colors.
Chalk Copenhagen makes all oil pastels by hand, melts natural types of wax and mixes with pigments, iron oxides and organic oil from Stevns, where the brand is based. The hot mass is poured into molds and the finished oil pastels are picked up when they have cooled. There may be small deviations in the size and shape of the chalks.
Chalk Copenhagen does not use plastic, preservatives, siccatives and no colors that contain heavy metals.
