"I designed Tolomeo in 1986. Or maybe I should say I invented it, when the idea for a new mechanism actually came before the lamp itself was created", says the Italian designer, Michele De Lucchi. He designed Artemide's Tolomeo lamp together with his colleague, Giancarlo Fassina, and the lamp became an instant bestseller. The designers wanted to combine traditional "arm lamps" with innovative technologies and materials. Today Tolomeo can be seen all over the world, in private homes, in offices, hotels - and even on film sets.
