Portable Lamp, PL2 – a portable, rechargeable lamp from English Sowden's collection of lamps, Shades . Sowden's studio has researched the dispersion and colors of light, and the lamps have components made of silicone, which, in addition to being resistant and washable, is also an excellent material for creating bright colors - and for diffusing light. PL2 's brightness can be adjusted up and down, and a USB cable is included.
As an artist, designer and product developer, George Sowden has worked all over the world since he moved from his hometown of Leeds to Milan back in 1970. Sowden has a personal interest in the craft itself and in working with smaller businesses. In 1981, he co-founded the design and architecture group, The MEMPHIS Design Movement, and in 2010 he named his own brand, Sowden.
PL2 can be used both indoors and outdoors in dry places. PL2 can shine at full power for up to 6-8 hours, as it has both a built-in, rechargeable power supply - and also space for two rechargeable batteries (not included) in the lamp base. Among other things, George Sowden has had restaurants and bars in mind, where lamps connected to the mains can be impractical: With charged batteries in the back of the hand, the PL2 batteries can be changed urgently, so that the guests do not risk sitting in the dark.
PL2 can light up indefinitely when connected via USB connector.
