Weekend bed, designed by Ole Gjerløv-Knudsen in 1965. His goal was to design a product that could be used in the summer house or places where the grandparents needed a place to put their grandchild.
Again, the aim was to create a product that could be easily assembled when needed. And easy to disassemble after use. Only natural materials were used and there are no metal parts in the product. The sides of the bed can be folded down, and this gave the bed several new functions along the way.
The bed is easy to take with you. When folded, it is placed in a bag with a shoulder strap, which makes it easy to transport.
The weekend bed does not use any screws or metal parts to assemble. The bed is assembled using sisal rope, which uses an old Danish principle, called the "saw principle".
You can also buy a mattress for the weekend bed. See mattress here
