Egg cup from the Danish ceramicist Sarah Dannesboe. The egg cups are turned on a turntable and are available in the color cream with grains of sand that give texture to the clay. The grey/brown color comes with small flecks of lava and is glazed in a semi-matt glaze. The glaze has beige stains, which come from both the iron in the glaze and the lava in the clay.
Based on the coast north of Copenhagen, Sarah Dannesboe produces functional ceramics from her garden studio. She primarily spins with local chamotte-containing stoneware clay and uses her own unique glaze formulations. Texture and lightness are central elements in her work.
After 20 busy years in the wine industry in France and Great Britain, Sarah Dannesboe chose to dedicate herself fully to ceramics.
