Alex Da Corte Mouse Museum is an art installation created by Alex Da Corte (born 1980), inspired by Claes Oldenburg's original Mouse Museum/Ray Gun Wing from 1979. The collection contains over 300 color images of the various objects in the Mouse Museum (Van Gogh Ear).
Oldenburg's installation consisted of a Mickey Mouse-shaped room filled with knick-knacks that he had collected over the years. The installation's documentation, inspirations and the artist's own reflections provide a unique insight into both the work and Da Corte's creative process. Da Corte has updated this concept for the 21st century by creating its own version, filled with things like glass fruit, McDonald's Happy Meal toys and artificial flowers.
