Cyanotype (also called blue printing or light printing) is an old photographic technique from the 19th century, where light-sensitive emulsion is developed in sunlight. Cyanotype is easy and everyone can make the finest prints of e.g. plant parts with the included guide booklet in hand. Cyanotype can be made on paper, wood, fabric, eggs etc. and there are a lot of ideas on e.g. Pinterest.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan style=\"font-weight: 400;\"\u003eThe included emulsion can last for years in powder form. When the powder is mixed with water, the shelf life is approximately one year. The emulsion is not toxic, but may irritate the skin and it is therefore recommended to use gloves. Shibori is in many ways reminiscent of what we know as wrap-batik. Shibori is a Japanese dyeing technique, where the dyeing is systematically excluded from certain areas of pieces of fabric. The Shibori technique has been known in Japan for more than 800 years and has been used especially for kimonos throughout time.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan style=\"font-weight: 400;\"\u003eShibori comes from the word 'shiboru', which means to twist or pinch. My kit is an introduction to the part of shibori called Atajime.
