Over time, this steel will oxidize and acquire a grayish patina - because it is not stainless. The advantage of the non-stainless steel is that it can be sharpened more easily and becomes very sharp.

It is mandatory to clean the blade after use. It can be cleaned under water, but it must be dried immediately afterwards and put away from moisture. If you don't use your knife often, remember to oil the blade before putting the knife in a dry place to prevent the steel from rusting.
