Cushion in eel grass from the Danish designer Nikoline Oda. The eel grass is harvested from Møn's shores, and as upholstery is a natural material that adds a distinctive tactility to the cushions.
Nikoline Oda is a trained designer from the Design School in Copenhagen, and for several years has worked with eel grass as an alternative to upholstery foam. Central to Nikoline's practice is handmade processing and an interest in cohesion between material, color and tactility. The textiles used are predominantly discarded furniture textiles from, among others, Kvadrat, composed of raw linen canvas.
All the pillows are handmade and unique. The composition is based on the original size of the discarded textiles, which means that the cushions are created with a minimal waste of resources.
