Jørgen Bækmark's classic bench with wicker seat from FDB Møbler is clearly inspired by his own wicker chairs. Jørgen Bækmark (1929 - 2021) is behind several iconic Danish pieces of furniture and from 1958 and for nine years he was design studio manager at FDB Møbler, where he helped make designer furniture available to the common man.
Based on the Danish design tradition, Bækmark's furniture is characterized by a calm design language and solid craftsmanship with an eye for detail. Many people experience a special harmony in the furniture and so Bækmark placed a declared emphasis on comfort. His chairs had to be nice to sit in.
