The Bowl Table from the Danish brand, Mater, is produced in Matek® - a material that, through new technology, makes it possible to reuse fibre-based waste materials together with recycled plastic waste - here sawdust mixed with plastic waste from the fixture giant Grohe - and recycled fiberglass and steel. Mater was founded in Copenhagen in 2006 and from the very beginning the ambition was to inspire a global design audience and engage people in sustainable thinking.
Mater combines sustainability and circular production with timeless design through collaboration with an external base of well-established and emerging design talent.
Bowl Table is designed by Indian, Ayush Kasliwal. He is a trained furniture designer from the National Institute of Design Ahmedabad, the premier design institute in India. Ayush's design studio AKFD is committed to the development of ideas using local craftsmanship that has evolved over centuries.
Kasliwal's work represents a fusion of special creativity and uncompromising integrity rarely found in the highly competitive world market. Kasliwal explains: “Products have their own ecosystem. They carry their history with them - like how and where they were made, and their future - like where they want to go. Mater is one of the few that recognizes this and engages in a positive way with these ecosystems."
The Bowl Table is designed to be disassembled, so that the individual parts can later be easily reused in new products.
