AY-O is a Japanese artist who was exhibited in Louisiana in connection with the Japan Exhibition in 1974. It was a very extensive exhibition with both newer and older art. One of the younger artists was Takao Lijima (with the stage name Ay-O).
Ay-O is known as the "Rainbow Man" for his use of colour-saturated, rainbow-striped motifs.
