Monograph on the Danish furniture designer, Kai Kristiansen (b. 1929) by the Danish editor and writer, Sisse Bro. Kristiansen is a cabinetmaker and trained at the art academy under architect Kaare Klint. Today, Kristiansen still practices the same methods as he did in the 1950s, when he set up his drawing studio.
In collaboration with numerous Danish furniture manufacturers, Kristiansen has devised significant and elaborate furniture that is popular today. Despite this, very little has been written about him.
As a modest and pragmatic character, Kristiansen has always focused on his work, above all else. Looking back on his life and career, he now tells his own story and shares his approach, experiences and visions.
