Crystal - handmade ceramic vase from the Copenhagen brand, Wauw, by ceramist Sussi Krull. Crystal's teardrop shape makes it particularly suitable for bouquets, as the stems will have plenty of space at the bottom of the vase, while the shape of the bouquet is secured with the smaller mouth of the vase. Sussi Krull draws inspiration from landscape and nature: "I have worn my children's shoes in the South Funen moraine landscape, sailed the South Funen archipelago thinly and almost lived in the meeting between land and water".
In the workshop with the two kilns at Østerbro in Copenhagen, Krull herself mixes clay, porcelain - and not least glazes, which she has developed over her 12 years as a ceramicist. She seeks to work sustainably with the recycling of clay and glaze residues.
The Crystal vase has a plain base color and on top of that the special crystal glaze on the upper half of the vase. The crystals grow in the firing, and therefore no two vases are alike.
