Mobile with Nordic swans from the Danish family-owned company, Flensted Mobiles, which has been manufacturing handmade mobiles since 1954. The mobile with swans is one of the first mobiles designed by Christian Flensted in 1956. The five white swans symbolize the nations of Scandinavia. Online only.
The idea for Flensted Mobiles started with a stork – in the form of a small, innocent mobile consisting of straw and three small paper storks, which the company's founder, Christian Flensted, made for his daughter Mette's christening in 1953. In 1982, the depeche was passed on to his son Ole Flensted, and to this day they manufacture handmade mobiles with great respect for the company's fundamental values and creative angles on the world.
The originator of mobiles in modern art was the American artist Alexander Calder (1898 – 1976). Three of Calder's sculptures are displayed on the terrace in front of Louisiana's café.
