Louisiana poster featuring the work Dyssemmétrie (2002) by the French-American artist Louise Bourgeois (b. 1911), presented by Louisiana in the special exhibition To Look Closer (2025), as part of the exhibition series Louisiana in Paper. Louise Bourgeois’ works have been exhibited at Louisiana several times and are represented in the museum’s collection.
The selection is divided into 22 groupings that range widely in form, style, expression and tone. The focus of a grouping could be on the significance of adding a horizon line to an image, or on how male desire shines through – more or less obviously – through the choice of subject.
