William Kentridge – Drawing for Sibyl 2022

Louisiana presented the first major solo exhibition in Scandinavia with William Kentridge (born 1955) in 2017. The exhibition focused on a number of the artist's late works from the period 2003-2016, where his lifelong enthusiasm for theater, opera, literature, film and music culminated in a series of installations consisting of moving images, music, text and sculptural objects.

William Kentridge was born in 1955 in Johannesburg, where he still lives and works. He had his breakthrough in the early 1990s with poetic black and white stop motion films, but since the turn of the millennium he has further developed his artistic language and combined it with his love of both film and theatre.
