Exclusive, handwoven alpaca cushion cover in the series, A boi , designed by the Colombian designer, Ana Maria Gomez/AMGS, in collaboration with William, a renowned artisan with a studio near the capital, Bogota. The textiles from AMGS are a very high quality alpaca from Peru and each weave has its own unique color combination. Comes with inner cushion.
Ana Maria Gomez has her design studio - AMGS - in Brussels and a Belgian master in textile design. She designs both fabrics for clothing and cushions, and textiles for furniture.
Gomez has a special interest in fusing contemporary design with traditional textile craftsmanship in co-productions. Almost like a cultural exchange with the textiles as the common language. A boi is precisely a word from an earlier, now disappeared, language in the region around Bogota, and directly translated means - hers or his blanket .
Ana Maria Gomez sometimes weaves with Colombian William for days in his local studio as ideas emerge together. It becomes a series of reinterpretations of graphic symbols and weaving structures that have traditionally prevailed in the city of Cucuniba, close to Bogota - an area with a centuries-long tradition of high-level weaving.
