Handmade Coffee Pot from Copenhagen ceramicist Anne Black. Her love for clay as a material and for applied arts and crafts was originally inspired by studying ancient Chinese porcelain at school. After graduating from design school in 1996, she worked at various collective ceramic workshops in Copenhagen, where she created her porcelain objects that combine Scandinavian design and craftsmanship into functional handmade porcelain pieces.
In 2005, Anne turned her ceramic skills and workshop into a development project when she and Mrs. Hang created a ceramic factory in northern Vietnam. There, she had the chance to work closely with skilled craftsmen, with whom she exchanged ideas, knowledge and inspiration.
The facility initially received support from the Danish aid organization Danida and over the years has matured into a factory with more than 50 craftsmen who produce Anne's porcelain, with meticulous skill, by hand, day after day.
In recent years, Anne Black has expanded her work with unique pieces, made in her workshop in Copenhagen and often in collaboration with various designers such as Akira Minagawa (JP), Henrik Vibskov (DK), Adish (IL).
