Cestita table lamp

The table lamp, Cestita, is inspired by the traditional lanterns that light up homes along the Spanish coast and on open terraces in Spain. The lamp consists of an opalescent, mouth-blown glass shade, which is supported by a refined cherry wood structure, giving the lamp a light and elegant expression. The lamp is designed to be easy to move around.

Cestita is one of the most distinctive lamps by Spanish Miguel Milá. The wooden structure is handmade by European craftsmen, who use a traditional technique when bending the wood with the help of steam. The wood is then finely polished and assembled so that it is robust.

Miduel Milá is one of Spain's most highly regarded industrial designers. He began his career in the 1950s and in 1962 he designed the Cestita lamp. Despite its quirky design - or perhaps because of it - the Cestita lamp remains a true modern classic.
