The book Where People Go. 50 Art Decorations from the History of the New Carlsberg Foundation by Tom Hermansen presents 50 unique works from the past ten decades and a fascinating story about the artists, the creation of the decorations, and the interaction of the works with their surroundings. From Vilhelm Lundstrøm's mosaics, which hang isolated high up on the walls of Frederiksberg Swimming Hall, to Karin Lorentzen's water art on the square in Lemvig.

"Art should go where people go, and have it before their eyes every day," believed brewer Carl Jacobsen, and since the mid-1920s, the New Carlsberg Foundation has financed hundreds of artistic decorations in institutions and urban spaces all over Denmark.

The New Carlsberg Foundation was founded in 1902 by brewer Carl Jacobsen and is primarily financed by dividends from shares in Carlsberg A/S. Today, the foundation still works to realize the brewer's vision of strengthening art in society and making it accessible to the widest possible audience.
