Calder - Dreaming in Equilibrium
Choose options
Calder – Dreaming in Equilibrium is a richly illustrated book that explores Alexander Calder's deep connection to France and the development of his groundbreaking modern art.
The book gathers over 300 works and follows Calder's artistic development throughout his career, both in dialogue with contemporary artists such as Paul Klee and Wassily Kandinsky, and his close circle, including Hans Arp, Joan Miró, and Fernand Léger. It thus places his work in a broad international art historical context.
The publication is edited by exhibition curators Anna Karina Hofbauer and Dieter Buchhart and includes contributions from Elisabeth Hutton Turner, Chuz Martinez, Olivier Michelon, and Arnauld Pierre, as well as an interview between Sandy Rower and Jordana Mendelson.
The book is published in conjunction with the Alexander Calder retrospective at the Fondation Louis Vuitton in Paris and serves as a comprehensive and visually powerful presentation of his life's work.
