Ann Veronica Janssens – Hot pink TURQUOISE - (2020)

Belgian Ann Veronica Janssens (b 1956) works almost scientifically to push the boundaries of the known when she challenges our perception of reality with fog formations, color trails, light effects and optical illusions.

Ann Veronica Janssens has created sculptures and spatial installations for four decades and her art is always based on familiar materials: glass, liquids, fog and especially light.

Although Janssen's art is not easy to categorize, its effect is unmistakable when she wants to place us in a new place where we can open ourselves up anew.

"I think that sometimes you have to erase reality - erase the visible - to make room to see something else," Janssens has stated.

Louisiana's exhibition with Ann Veronica Janssens was her first in Denmark and presented works from the early 1990s to the present day - with a new work, Horizon, created especially for the exhibition.
