Edward Hopper – Anniversary Poster - Cape Cod Morning (1950)

Anniversary poster with the work, Cape Cod Morning, (1950), by the American artist, Edward Hopper (1882–1967). The world seen through a window, as if to emphasize distance, the effective use of mood-creating light and shadow, and the bright and strong colors that are so characteristic of Hopper - all elements are repeated in this powerful image.

Edward Hopper was not very well known in Denmark when Louisiana introduced him to the Danish audience in 1992. But that changed with the exhibition, which was a great success.

Most people are now familiar with the American artist's atmospheric and cinematic images, which are often permeated with loneliness, separation and an unresolved longing.

The poster originates from Louisiana's exhibition with Edward Hopper in 1992 and the poster was reprinted in connection with Louisiana's 60th anniversary in 2018.
