___
Emil Nolde is one of the most important representatives of German Expressionism, but his close connection to Denmark – both biographically and geographically – also gives him a natural place in Danish art history.
Louisiana has shown Nolde several times. In 1967 on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the artist's birth, and again in 1986 and in 2014. Generation after generation shows interest in Emil Nolde's work, which can be experienced in Seebüll, North Germany, where Nolde's house and garden are preserved and open to the public.
