Pillow in Gudme Leth's iconic guinea fowl pattern by the Danish textile artist Marie Gudme Leth.
Marie Gudme Leth often found inspiration for her works on trips and in nature. The guinea fowl pattern dates from the period when she worked with naturalistic and romantic patterns that contained a narrative element and a lot of humor.
In this pattern, guinea fowl wander among green palms and ferns with wide, wondering eyes. The exotic landscape brings to mind Java, where Marie Gudme Leth stayed for several years, as well as other countries in the Far East that she also had the opportunity to visit on this extensive journey, including Malaysia, Ceylon (Sri Lanka) and India.
The pattern is printed with freely drawn lush flowers, where the colors overlap each other, which makes it difficult to distinguish the individual pattern borders from each other.
The textile is hand-printed at Frösö Handtryck in Northern Sweden. As the motif is hand-printed, the individual prints may vary. The material is 100% linen with pigment colour. We recommend cleaning, not washing.
