The opening of the Children's Center in 1994 was, on the whole, something of a blast with a large, child-oriented programme: Alberte sang in the Concert Hall, Jess Ingerslev read aloud, Vigga Bro managed the Children's Panel and LEGO had donated thousands of bricks.

Outdoors in the Lake Garden were Alfio Bonnano's fantastic sculptures: Footbridge, bird's nests you could sit in up in the trees and a labyrinth, built as a pontoon, floating on Humlebæk Lake.
