Louisiana print with Inge Ellegaard's work, Amaryllis (6) . Inge Ellegaard (1953-2010) was part of the Danish group of visual artists who in the early 1980s were dubbed "The Young Wild Ones". Inspired by surrealism, she worked with color and form in her often ambiguous visual narratives.
In 1993, Inge Ellegaard decided to paint the amaryllis flower throughout its entire life cycle. From flower bud to withered twig. Every day a new picture of the same flower, which was not the same anyway, when the passing of time had been at stake. As a kind of existential process from cradle to grave.
The work is part of Inge Ellegaard's series AMARYLLIS - which is part of Louisiana's collection.
