Matre is a Norwegian design brand founded in 2023 by Elizabeth Matre-Aas and her husband Ole Kristian Bergsjø Aas, created from a deep passion for Norwegian cultural heritage, craftsmanship, and design traditions. About Sigurd Resell
Sigurd Resell (1920–2010) was a Norwegian furniture designer from Meldal in Trøndelag. He studied at the National Academy of Craft and Art Industry in Oslo, where he specialised in furniture design.

Resell is best known for his collaboration with Vatne Lenestolfabrikk, where he created a series of furniture pieces during the 1960s and following decades that combine functionality, comfort, and a simple, timeless design language. His work is characterised by a balanced approach between traditional craftsmanship and modern design principles.
