Anti-reflective framing – Hilma af Klint The Ten Largest No. 7, Adulthood (1907)

Anti-Reflectiv framing of the work Mannaåldern, De tio största, nr 7 (1907), by the Swedish artist, Hilma af Klint (1862-1944), which Louisiana exhibited in 2014. The poster comes framed with a matte laminated surface, which significantly reduces reflections from light sources compared to regular glass and provides a beautiful, calm visual expression without glare. The frame is made of oak veneer.

Klint never exhibited her abstract works publicly during her lifetime, only her figurative ones. "I had no idea what the paintings were supposed to represent. Nevertheless, I worked quickly and confidently, without changing a single brushstroke," Hilma af Klint explained in her posthumous notes and diaries.

Hilma af Klint has not occupied much space in art history, even though she can be considered one of the pioneers of abstract art. Her extensive work was created in a spiritual space inspired by, among other things, theosophical and anthroposophical currents, where she connects inner experience and symbolic language.

The artist's story is fascinating and unknown to most. It is a story of a female artist on the fringes of the established canon. She belongs to the first generation of academically trained women in Europe. She trained in Stockholm in naturalistic portrait and landscape painting. Hilma af Klint's artistic universe is visually strong, color-experimental, and rich in symbolism.
