Plaid - Kassett
Choose options
Kassett is designed by Skogstad & Wærnes and woven from Norwegian lamb's wool. The throw was developed based on studies of structure, architecture and construction. The colour palette combines related and contrasting shades, creating variation in rhythm, depth and contrast across the surface. The throw is finished with a contrasting blanket-stitch edge that emphasises the design's graphic expression.
Røros Tweed is a continuation of Hiort's Foundation's craft business. It began with weaving courses in 1938, with textiles produced in people's private homes. Later, investment was made in machinery, and the factory's production is now focused on textiles made from 100% pure new wool, with designs that are often inspired by the cultural heritage and the fascinating highland nature of Røros.
Peder Hiort, who was the director of Røros Copper Works in the 18th century, bequeathed his entire fortune to the poor of Røros - a will that is characterised as one of the wisest donations in Scandinavia, as it demonstrated an exceptional foresight and a sense of social responsibility that is still relevant today in other parts of the world.
