Coffee cup, Blue Sophia, from the Belgian design brand Serax, designed by Marie Michielssen. The cup is decorated with spontaneous blue brushstrokes inspired by East Asian calligraphy. The hand-painted decoration stands in beautiful contrast to the soft beige surface and gives each cup its own unique expression.
Serax is a Belgian design brand, founded in 1986 by brothers Serge and Axel Van Den Bossche. It started modestly – in a garage – but has since grown into an internationally recognized lifestyle and interior brand based in Antwerp. The brand unites function and aesthetics in everything from ceramics and tableware to furniture, lighting, and home accessories. Its hallmarks are craftsmanship, earthy materials, and collaborations with renowned designers such as Marie Michielssen, Vincent Van Duysen, and Ann Demeulemeester.
