Its sculptural, totem-like base transforms a cake or dish into a playful centrepiece, combining expressive colour with a raw, artistic form. Marie Michielssen has been a key designer at Serax for over 20 years, where she creates two collections annually focusing on everyday functionality and materials with "soul," without compromising on aesthetics.

Serax is a Belgian design brand, founded in 1986 by brothers Serge and Axel Van Den Bossche. It started modestly – in a garage – but has since grown into an internationally recognised lifestyle and interior brand with its main base in Antwerp. The brand combines function and aesthetics in everything from ceramics and tableware to furniture, lighting, and home accessories. Its hallmarks are craftsmanship, earthy materials, and collaborations with renowned designers such as Marie Michielssen, Vincent Van Duysen, and Ann Demeulemeester.
