Dinner plates Santiago De Borja designed by artist Shurleey Villavicencio Pizango for the Belgian design brand Serax. Shurleey is known for her playful, colourful, and raw portraits, where perspective is challenged, black contour lines highlight shapes, and large areas of colour create a modern, expressive look. Her work reflects a search for authenticity and humanity in an era defined by technology and AI, where the raw and imperfect gain new life through her artistic universe.

Serax is a Belgian design brand, founded in 1986 by brothers Serge and Axel Van Den Bossche. It started modestly – in a garage – but has since grown into an internationally recognised lifestyle and interior brand with its main base in Antwerp. The brand combines function and aesthetics in everything from ceramics and tableware to furniture, lighting, and home accessories. It is characterised by craftsmanship, earthy materials, and collaborations with renowned designers such as Marie Michielssen, Vincent Van Duysen, Ann Demeulemeester, and now also with Shurleey Villavicencio Pizango.
