Signed Tal R poster of the work, Habakkuk, from his "bulletin board" series. The poster is printed in a limited edition.

With the notice board pictures, it is Tal R's stated ambition to take on the cornflakes packets. The noticeboards offer a universe of images that you can fall in love with as you slowly wake up. Or shuts down. They are, in Tal R's own words, stoner posters. And there should be plenty to look at: from advertisements to pornography, art history and illustrations from a children's book.

The boards are only available as reproductions, as posters. The originals - the ones where the pencils really stuck out from the rough hessian, are split back into the visual atoms they were before they were briefly assembled into the various wholes.

The bulletin boards are like an index of our visual world. Here, all images appear on equal terms and conditions, whether they are modern art, private snap-shots or colored fantasies. In this way, the bulletin boards are related to Tal R's gigantic series of paintings, where similar cutouts are layered. These paintings have helped to cement Tal R's position on the international art scene.

The Danish artist, Tal R (b. 1967), has been one of the most significant Danish artists of his generation since the 90s and is today richly represented in Louisiana's collection.

Tal R made his debut at Louisiana in 1997 and had something close to a popular breakthrough with the museum's retrospective exhibition, The Sum, in 2007. Louisiana opened in 2017 the first collective presentation of the artist's works created over the past 20 years.
