With the South Wing (1987), Louisiana added an exhibition room with a higher ceiling and and more space than in the previously existing buildings. The high space highlights the qualities of the artwork, giving it plenty og surrounding space and optimal daylight. The South Wing is built into the terrain in order to maintain Louisiana's low profile.
