Exhibition poster of the work, Self-Portrait , (1901), by the Spanish artist, Pablo Picasso, (1881-1973), published in connection with the Louisiana exhibition, Picasso before Picasso, in 2016. Pablo Picasso was a gifted draftsman and artist and he knew it : "At fourteen I could draw like Raphael", he liked to say.
What is interesting and fascinating is not only that Picasso was technically skilled as a boy and teenager, but that he also possessed a human maturity which is evident in his powers of observation and observations of people and lived life.
Louisiana's exhibition contained 28 drawings by the teenager Pablo and thus the seed of the Picasso who left his mark on large parts of art in the twentieth century.
