Membership price: $1,251.90

Exclusive paper pendant, designed by the Japanese designer, Tani Toshiyuki, for the Danish brand, Motarasu. Often, paper lamps are constructed with bamboo or wire, but on Ron , Toshiyuki has instead wrapped the Japanese paper around a PET wire, secured with starchy glue, to let as much light through as possible. The Ron lamp is also special in that the paper shade can be turned upside down and you can change the look of the lamp that way.

Graduated from Kobe Design University in Japan, Tani Toshiyuki is part of a new generation of lighting designers known for implementing traditional wood and bamboo craft techniques into modern design.

Toshiyuki is part of the team at Danish Motarasu, which brings together Japanese and Danish designers in one brand. Both nations have long and proud traditions of furniture design.

Motarasu was founded in 2019 by Mikkel Zebitz. Zebitz is clearly inspired by Japanese design and aesthetics. But where classic Danish designers, as well as contemporary designers, have largely let Japan serve as inspiration, Zebitz wanted to change this: "Motarasu" means "to change" in Japanese - by uniting the designers of the two nations to create modern design together.

Art and nature are the key elements in designs from Motarasu, who work from the showroom in Frederiksgade in Copenhagen.
