The historian of architecture and ideas, Carsten Thau (1947-2021), a central figure in modern Danish architecture, left behind a work-in-progress essay entitled On transparency and other essays at his death in 2021. The essay is published in this book together with a handful of other essays that illuminate a cross between architecture and the history of ideas, urban sociology and aesthetics, as well as personalia and cultural history.
