Denmark from the sky, is a photographic portrait of Denmark from the air as it looks today. With a little over 200 km/h and an open window in all kinds of weather, Nicolas Cosedis flies across the country with his camera and lets his gaze be captured by contrasts, patterns and symmetry. The photographs are accompanied by text by author and journalist, Pernille Steensgaard.
Nicolas Cosedis shows us Denmark from Skagen to Møns Klint via Langeland with a view of playful wild horses, over provincial towns and the capital and on to the hairpin turns of Bornholm in an attempt to encapsulate nature and culture, and everything in between. Seen from above, he shows us a new, yet familiar Denmark.
On the text page, Pernille Steensgaard, with her in-depth knowledge of Denmark and the Danes, guides the reader on the trip across the country and describes how people and landscapes shape and influence each other.
