Neshat-isms is a collection of quotes from award-winning Iranian-American visual artist and filmmaker Shirin Neshat. Her experiences of loss and grief as an Iranian woman in exile are central themes in her work with photography, video and film.
Shirin Neshat is known for her outspoken support for Iranian women and human rights, as well as for poetic and politically charged images and narratives that question power, religion, race and gender. The quotes are collected from interviews, lectures and writings.
