The poet Peter Laugesen has distinguished himself as one of the most important art writers in Denmark since the late 1970s. Bildskrivninger is a collection of more than 60 texts about the most important artists from the 20th and 21st centuries – both the greatest Danish artists, Per Kirkeby and Asger Jorn, and world art from Paula Modersohn-Becker to Alberto Giacometti to Andy Warhol. The book is illustrated and begins with a foreword by Poul Erik Tøjner, director of Louisiana, and Rune Lykkeberg, editor-in-chief of Dagbladet Information.
Peter Laugesen (b. 1942) debuted in 1967 with the poetry collection Landskab and has since published more than 50 poetry collections, most recently Morgensange (2025). Laugesen has also written plays, collaborated with jazz musicians and translated books from English, Swedish and French. Since the 1970s he has written about art for Dagbladet Information.
