Jar for garlic

Jar for garlic, shallots or small onions from the Danish ceramicist Sarah Dannesboe. The jar is turned on a wheel using a gray stoneware clay with lava flecks and glazed with Sarah Dannesboe's own formula in a semi-matte oatmeal glaze. The glaze contains iron oxide, which together with the iron in the clay creates a fine oatmeal effect.

Sarah Dannesboe is an English-Danish ceramicist with a workshop in North Zealand. Sarah's ceramics are hand-turned with stoneware clays, and she only uses her own glazes. The ceramics are intended for everyday use, and there is a lot of focus on her products being light, elegant, timeless and functional.

Sarah uses local stoneware clays with a high content of chamotte to create textures and contrast for her glazes. Sarah's inspiration for glaze colors and shades comes partly from the local coastal nature. All of her glazes are completely unique and are developed from scratch by her.
