Get a touch of Paris with this wool blend beanie from it French brand Mapoésie. Based in the French capital, the brand creates luxurious scarves, bags and decorations for the home.
The French designer Elsa Poux is behind Mapoésie and graduated from l'École nationale supérieure des Arts Décoratifs de Paris. She is inspired by ethnic cultures, good craftsmanship and the Russian artist Sonia Delaunay, who in 1923 stated that her textiles were as much poetry as they were an expression of a state of mind and the essential base for her paintings.
Elsa Poux has implemented a very personal style and a strong graphic identity whose modernity simultaneously refers to old traditions. For her creations, she uses, for example, an older technique called serigraphy - a printing method where you cut out two templates, glue them together and frame them. In this way, a high quality of print and color reproduction is achieved.
Elsa Poux advocates slow fashion and solid craftsmanship; she also uses a form of weaving where it can take up to a week to produce the creations.
Mapoésie prefers natural materials in all their collections. The materials specially woven for Mapoésie allow a variation in finish, lightness or thickness. Natural fibers are obtained by means of physical and mechanical processing without changing their composition. The price of these materials is generally higher than that of synthetic materials.
