Jundo daybed designed by the Danish architect and furniture designer, Mads Emil Garde, for the Danish brand, Motarasu. Jundo is Japanese for purity, and Garde has just investigated what can be created with just one single shape. Jundo can be personalized depending on how many cushions you place on it and how they are placed - across the ribs, along the ribs or perhaps up against a wall. Available online only. 6-8 weeks delivery time.
Mads Emil Garde himself explains that as a child of the era with 'Form follows function' and 'Less is more', he has developed a love for more complex designs over the years. Recognizing that life is sometimes just more complex, Garde "tries to balance my designs between practical needs, simplified forms and an aesthetic that stimulates thought and reflection."
Motarasu was founded in 2019 by Mikkel Zebitz. Zebitz is clearly inspired by Japanese design and aesthetics. But where classic Danish designers, as well as contemporary designers, have largely let Japan serve as inspiration, Zebitz wanted to change this and collaborate directly with Japanese designers: "Motarasu" means "to change" in Japanese.
Art and nature are the key elements in designs from Motarasu, who work from the showroom in Frederiksgade in Copenhagen.
