Anne Mette Larsen uses weaving to "translate" experiences and observations from her travels into concrete works of art. The book combines text, images and work descriptions, which gives an insight into her creative process and her reflections on culture, craft and history.

Anne Mette Lasen is a trained weaver from Aarhus Art Academy with 40 years of experience. Through her life's work, she has created impressive amounts of textile - over a kilometer - in total. Her works are characterized by classic checkered patterns. Many of her carpets and weavings have found their way to galleries and collections around the world: 3 meters of weaving placed in a library in Rome, 10 meters bought by the Carlsberg Foundation, 14 meters exhibited in a gallery in Kiev and 33 meters soon on their way to an exhibition in Saint Petersburg.
