American Arthur Jafa (b. 1960) is one of the most important voices in contemporary art. Jafa's moving and biting critical works depict the disparity between the success of black American culture and the low social status of black Americans. The richly illustrated catalogue published for the Louisiana exhibition provides an overview of Jafa's main works. It includes a conversation between Jacob Holdt and Arthur Jafa, an introduction to the artist by the exhibition curator, Mathias Ussing Seeberg, and texts by Jared Sexton, M. Nourbese Philip and Nahum Dimitri Chandler.
