Arthur Jafa actually started his career as a cinematographer. He has worked with big names such as Spike Lee and Stanley Kubrick. In recent years, he has made music videos in collaboration with a number of prominent American musicians. Among others Jay-Z, Solange Knowles and most recently Kanye West on the track Wash Us in the Blood (2020). For his artistic work, he was honored in 2019 with the art world's most prestigious prize, a Golden Lion at the Venice Biennale.
