When Helle Herman Mortensen, Jonas Herman Pedersen and Lasse Lund Lauridsen founded Form & Refine back in 2018, their greatest desire and primary focus was to make a difference. And it still is today.
It was also vital for them to create a brand that embodies the Nordic design heritage, of which they themselves are a part. They are all material geeks and love wood, which is the most sustainable material available. Wood has a long life and poses less environmental impact than any other material. Wood also has a positive effect on our physical and mental health and can be reused and recycled. Form & Refine's wood waste is 100% biodegradable and comes from certified forestry throughout Europe.
The brand is also co-owner of Damsbo Forest on Funen, where they only buy wood when the forest's natural balance allows it. They use the wood for their Danish-produced furniture, so the entire cycle – from the first germinating seeds to the finished product – takes place in Denmark.
