The smiling, Leo Sponge, from the Danish design brand, HAY, was designed by the Swiss designer, interior stylist and journalist, Connie Hüsser. Leo Sponge can put a smile on your face in either the kitchen or bathroom, and can be used for several types of cleaning. The sponge comes in many colours, so you are free to choose which ones suit your home best.
In the collaboration with Hay on the Leo Sponge, Connie Hüsser went for a rainbow of eight colors from green to yellow, so that the sponges would form a harmonious transition in terms of color when standing on top of each other. Hüsser has received a great deal of positive feedback on Leo Sponge, both from customers and at design exhibitions.
Hüsser likes faces and surrounds himself with them in his studio. She has an extensive collection of objects with smileys, so it was only natural for her to include this motif in one of her own products. As Hüsser says: "It's good to surround yourself with smiles!"
Throughout her career, Connie Hüsser has used her fascination with and intuitive sense of the unusual to seek out and select special and striking objects. Since 2018, she has traveled the world with the exhibition, "Objects with Love", carefully curating her own selection of original designs by contemporary designers, with a focus on objects that are handmade and have a sense of playfulness: A comment to a sometimes somewhat industrialized world of design.
