Why Have There Been No Great Women Artists? is a 1971 essay by the American writer Linda Nochlin (1931-2017). An essay now recognized as the first major work in feminist art theory. This is the 50th anniversary edition, which also includes author Linda Nochlin's reflections three decades later.
Linda Nochlin is described in The Guardian as the woman who was 'groundbreaking until the end'. She wrote about gender in art history and about 19th-century realism.
